Frances Diedrich, 83, passed away Saturday, Jan 14 at the home of her granddaughter with whom she lived. She was a 61 year resident of the Calumet area, a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She and her husband, Adam, who preceded her in death, owned a saloon on Sibly Street in Hammond for many years.
Her parents, John and Sophia (Gousloff) Heidtman came to the US in 1862 from Germany. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Grace) Rutz of Hammond and 2 granddaughters, Arlene Van Stright of Munster and Helen Schreiber of Hammond, also 2 great granddaughters who affectionately called her "Nanny".
