"Linneus Items -- Services for Marie Mallett, Linneus, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, in the Linneus Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Arthur Short. Burial was in Parklawn Memory Gardens, Brookfield, under direction of the Wright Funeral Home, Linneus.

Mrs. Mallett died Friday at Pershing Memorial Hospital. She was 82.

She was born April 20, 1901, in Sullivan County, the daughter of Marion and Frances Swearingen Spencer. She was married to Herman Coffman in 1919. He preceded her in death. On March 23, 1934, she was married to Joseph Mallett. He died Feb. 16, 1983. She was a member of the Linneus First Baptist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Murphy of Linneus, Mrs. Golda Magoon of Groton, Conn., and Mrs. Violet Harms of South Milwaukee, Wis.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Taylor of St James and Myrtle Lee of Milan; and two brothers, Edward and Leonard Spencer, both of Milan.
