Mrs. Maude Coffer, 39 years old, died early yesterday morning at her home, River and Macon streets. Death resulted from dropsy, from which she had suffered for several years.
Mrs. Coffer was born in Joplin in 1878. She came to Carthage several years ago from Little Rock, Ark., where the family resided a number of years. Three daughters, Ruth Coffer, Marie Coffer, and Marguerite Coffer, all of whom reside at home, survive. A brother, Elmer Leakey, of Joplin, and two sisters, Mrs. Nora Merkiman, of Robinson, Ill., and Mrs. Myrtle Goodspeed, also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the residence. The body will be taken to Excelsior Springs for burial.
