wife of J. S. Timmons
Mrs. J.S. Timmons, 64, died at her home in Elbert, Texas. On account of the inclement weather, friends and relatives in Graham, Texas were unable to attend. The family requested Rev. G.W. Black, a friend of the family for 50 years to officiated the services, but on account of his health and the bad weather, he was unable to go.
Mr. J.S. Timmons was a pioneer of Young County, Texas, he went back to his native state of Georgia and was married to Miss Jennie Smith in 1897. Immediately after the wedding, the couple returned to Young County, Texas and lived in the Tonk Valley Community. The couple moved to the Elbert Community in 1918.
Mrs. Timmons was converted in 1900 and became a member of the Baptist Church. She was a noble woman and exerted an influence for good in the communities where she lived.
Survived by her husband; two daughters - Mrs. Homer Johnson and Mrs. Archie Curtis; several step-children and other relatives.
