"Paul Boyer came with his brother, Alfred, and the Antoine Marcelin family to Duck Lake on January 16, 1890, from Olga, North Dakota. They were originally from Quebec. After a few weeks stay at Duck Lake, they undertook a two day trip by cart to Muskeg Lake where they settled for two years. They were the only white people among the Cree Indians. The Marcelin's sixteen year old daughter, Aldina, taught school to the Indian children; the district, Aldina, was named after her. In 1892, the Boyer brothers and the Marcelin family
returned to Duck Lake. In 1893, Paul moved back to the Marcelin area. Here, he built a house and started ranching. On January 30, 1894, he married Marguerite Lafleur. "
