Vera M. Ferguson, 73, of Oakland, passed away, Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011 at Oakland Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born April 5, 1937 in Deer Park, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Olin (Wilson) Tasker. Also preceded in death are brothers, Clement and Leo Tasker; and sister, Vivian “Bib” Hardesty.
Vera was a waitress, member of Kurtz Chapel and VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Deer Park.
Surviving are husband, Philip R. Ferguson Sr.; sons, Philip R. Ferguson Jr., Gary Allen Ferguson and Steven George Ferguson, all of Oakland; daughter, Gail Lynn Hebb, Oakland; brother, Clifford Tasker, Oakland; sisters, Lucretia “Perk” Watring and Eleanor Moon, both of Oakland and Susan Fulk, Bayard, W.Va.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at Kurtz Chapel, Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 from noon to 2 p.m. Funeral services will immediately following viewing with the Rev. Barbara Rexrode officiating.
Interment will be in the Tasker Cemetery.
