AUGUSTA, Ill. -- Ryan Gene Alexander, 37, of Peoria, formerly of Augusta, died Oct. 22, 2014, in OSF St. Francis Hospital, Peoria. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, in the Hunter Funeral Home, Golden. Burial will be in Golden Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Ryan Gene Alexander, 37, of Peoria, formerly of Augusta, passed away Wednesday (Oct. 22, 2014) in OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.

Ryan was born July 20, 1977. He was a son of Debra J. Alexander and Donald L. Alexander. Ryan married Cori Ann Wilkins in 1998; they divorced in 2004.

He was a member of the IBEW Local 51 union and was employed with Custom Underground Inc. of Peoria until leaving for health reasons.

Ryan was a fun-loving person who would help anyone at any time. He had a smile for everyone and never knew a stranger. Ryan and his grandparents Merle and Verna White shared a special bond.

Ryan is survived by his mother, Debra Alexander of Peoria, and father, Donald (Cindy) Alexander of Augusta; maternal grandparents, Merle and Verna White of Camp Point; paternal grandfather, Lloyd Alexander of Augusta; siblings, Aaron, Lexie and Austin Alexander, all of Augusta; one aunt, Dr. Lisa Alexander Learn of Florida; one uncle, Randy (Therese) Alexander of Florida; and many other cousins and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Joan Alexander; and his beloved dog, Brittany.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, in the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden, with the Rev. Linda Murray and his cousin, the Rev. John Nelson of Jacksonville, conducting. He will be laid to rest alongside his great-grandparents, Edward and Alvena Post, and Orin and Emily White, in the Golden Community Cemetery in Golden.
VISITATION: 10-11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: Immanuel/Trinity Kids Club of Golden or Faith Lutheran Church of Augusta.
