On July 22, 1939, she was married to William Roy Brady, Sr.—Brother Brady, as he was known to many. Together, they served the Lord diligently through many years in local church and association work until he preceded her in death on August 5, 2003. They were married for over 60 years, nurturing and guiding their two children William Roy Brady, Jr. and Mary Lou Richardson.
Her expectation for excellence was legendary in the classroom, where 35 years of students passed under her care at the Piggott School District before her retirement in 1980. Even afterwards, she participated in the Clay County Retired Teachers and Arkansas Retired Teachers Association.
She was a ready servant and a model for young women as she served her Lord faithfully in many areas of His work, most recently as a member of the Grace Missionary Baptist Church. Rarely was she seen without a Bible beside her chair at home and was renowned for her fellowship cooking.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Eld. Mike Chadwick, Eld. Eddie Gene Wright, and Eld. John Knott officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation begins 6:00 p.m. Friday.
