For several years she had been an active senior member of Jacksboro First Baptist Church.
Born in Scott County, Tennessee on May 16, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Nancy Lay.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sons, Jack Randolph and Gary Randolph; daughter-in-law, Joan Randolph; brothers and sisters, Alonzo Lay, Ernell Lay, Odessa Lay Perkins, Lela Lay, Reba Lay Jones, Clyde Lay, Madge Lay Frills, James Lay, Stella Lay Munday, and Shirley Lay Hughes. Jean was also preceded in death by numerous sister and brother-in-laws.
She is survived by a sister, Shirley Lay Hughes of Charleston, West Virginia; daughter-in-laws, Charlotte Randolph Cincinnati, OH., and Beverly Randolph of Somerset, KY; grandchildren, Mark and Sarah Randolph of Knoxville, TN, Tracy and Tony Pence of Somerset, KY, Sandy and Ken Hardin, and Greg Randolph all of Cincinnati, OH; great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Randolph, Alyssa Randolph, Kevin Hawk, Lorrie Hawk-West, Anthony Pence, Nathanial Pence, Jessee Hardin, Madelyn Randolph, Emily Randolph, and Lily Randolph; great-great-grandchildren, Natalie West and Jameson West; special niece, Joline Longacker. She leaves many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Randolph family on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 12 (noon) until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida. Jones & Son Funeral Home is serving the family of Jean Randolph.
