Arlene Campbell, 67, Mitchell died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at the Avera Heart Hospital, Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Mitchell. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Arlene Joyce Campbell was born March 17, 1943 in Pierre as the youngest daughter of Martin and Mary (Halbert) Baade. She grew up on her parent’s farm east of Pierre. After the untimely death of her parents, she moved to Pierre where she lived with the family of Leland and Oleta Johnson. She attended school in the Pierre area and graduated from Riggs High School in 1961. On Dec. 14, 1968 she married William P. Campbell at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pierre. They farmed near Onida and Gettysburg until moving to Fort Pierre in 1973. She was employed by the Department of Public Safety, the Department of Transportation and Game, Fish and Parks from 1962 until moving to Mitchell in 1983. She graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University in 1992 with a BA in church and community work and with minors in human services and business administration. She also attended North American Baptist Seminary in Sioux Falls for a brief time. She was employed at Life Quest from 1996 until 2002. She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church where she was involved with various committees and taught Sunday school. Arlene enjoyed spending time with family, reading and going for walks.
She is survived by her husband, William, three daughters: Terrie Mahmoodi and husband Farzad of Hannawa Falls, N.Y., Sheri Wagner and husband Anthony of Waseca, Minn., Holly Campbell and fiancé Steve of Mitchell, two sons: Tyrone Campbell of Mitchell, William Campbell and wife Vanessa of Mitchell, two brothers: Fred Baade and wife Bonnie of Pierre, Darrell Baade and wife Dottie of Pierre, 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister and her sister Nina Wilhelmson.
