L. Glenn Gurnee, 60, of 1150 Main street, died unexpectedly at 9:30 Monday morning after suffering a heart attack while sitting in his automobile, parked at Fourth street and Central avenue.
Mr. Gurnee, who would have obtained his 61st birthday Wednesday, was employed as a maintenance man at the Canfield hotel, Fourth and Central.
The body is at the Hoffmann mortuary, where friends may call after 7 o'clock Monday evening. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, with details of the arrangements to be announced later.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Gurnee was born March 16, 1886, at Oregon, Ill. He lived in Dubuque from 1906 to 1913, operating the Paris hotel with his father, the late L.O Gurnee. After leaving, he returned to Dubuque 25 years ago and had lived here since then.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lulu Schlitz Gurnee, Wilwaukee; one daughter, Miss Glenn Rose Gurnee, Milwaukee; his mother, Mrs. Eleanore Gurnee, Dubuque; two sisters, Mrs. W.J. (Grace) Canfield, Jr., Dubuque, and Mrs. Joseph (Gladys) Baird, Bonaparte, Ia., and several aunts and uncles.
