Mary Lou Greuel, age 76 of Kiel, died October 22, 2014 at her home with her husband by her side. She was born on February 5, 1938 in St. Anna, daughter of the late Alfred and Eleonora (Jugenheimer) Schaller. Mary Lou attended Kiel Schools and graduated from Kiel High School with the Class of 1957. On September 21, 1957 she was united in marriage to Laverne Greuel at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Kiel. Together they celebrated 57 years of marriage. Mary Lou and her husband Vern owned and operated Vern's Liquor Store in Kiel for 39 years. Mary Lou also helped out at her mothers business, Schaller's Tavern in Kiel. She was a volunteer at the Kiel Historical Society and other organizations. Mary Lou enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. Survivors include her husband, Laverne “Vern”, one son, Jeffery (Debbie) Greuel of Little Chute and one daughter, Kim (Lawrence) Sebo of Kiel. Mary Lou is also survived by her two grandchildren, Daniel (Leah) Greuel of Minneapolis, MN and Bonnie (Tim) Wildenberg of Little Chute, one sister Margie (Alvin) Mueller Jr. of Plymouth and the family dog, Zoe. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred & Eleonora Schaller, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, August & Mary Greuel, infant sister, Mary, infant grandson, Scot Greuel, as well as sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will take place at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery with Deacon Pat Knier officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at Calumet Medical Center, Hospice and Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home for their care and compassion as well as family and friends for their loving support and prayers. Mary Lou's memories will live on in our hearts FOREVER. May she now rest in PEACE.
