She passed away at her residence after a short illness on Dec. 28, 2011.
She is survived by her son, Charles (Jan) Adams of Carrollton, Ga.; her daughter, Scarlet "Tootsie" (Dennis) Beggs of West Point; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Adams was the former owner of Adams Triangle Restaurant in River View. She was the first retiree from Knauf Insulation in Lanett in 1999, after 11 years of service. During her retirement, she enjoyed baking and sharing with her many friends. Her fried apple pies are legendary.
Mrs. Adams also enjoyed gardening, making flower arrangements and taking care of her four legged grandchildren, Gator, Otis, Luttie, Frisco, Bob and Fred. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. "Stuff" Adams and her parents, Colon O. Sharpe and Beatrice M. Sharpe. Also preceding her were her three brothers, Colon O. Sharpe of Riverdale, Ga., William "Pud" Sharpe of Savannah, Ga. and J. Earl Sharpe, also of Savannah.
A memorial service will be held Saturday Jan.
7 at 2 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with visitation at 1 p.m., before the memorial.
