Jonathan McCoy, 86, Civil War veteran, died at his home here Friday morning after an extended illness. He was a member of B Company, 63rd Regiment Indiana Infantry. The Covington Post of the American Legion honored him with a full military service.
He is survived by the following: his widow Martha, four children: John S. McCoy, Indianapolis; Mrs. Ethel May Swank, Danville; Bert McCoy, Chicago; Mrs. Dollis Lippert, Geneva OH; a brother Thomas McCoy of Covington; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Crumley & Son Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon with the Rev. O.W. McGaughey officiating. Burial was at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
