There was not an obituary published for Pop so this will serve as his notice of passing:

This sweet man passed away peacefully in his sleep. I thought I would have 10 more years at least before I put his name in this database as his goal was to live to be at least 100 like his grandmother had - and he was just ornery enough to do it too. He joins his wife of 55 years. He leaves behind his two daughters, 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter whom he adored. He also leaves behind a dear friend, Eunice Brown of Yuma, AZ. She and my grandparents were great friends for many years. He loved his family. He loved his black cherry tobacco in his pipe (so much so it got him hit by a car when he was about 85 years old or so - as he left the tobacco store he was more interested in getting the tobacco into his pipe and not watching where he was going and walked into the path of a car...he was proud he did more damage to the car than the car did to him). He was ornery. He was a bit of a prankster. Now he's having a party with his wife, his mom, my uncle, his brothers, his grandmother, his uncle, his aunts. In addition, all the guys he gave a hard time to growing up are now getting their turn to get him back. Oh - and now the principal knows it was him that put that cherry bomb in the school toilet way back when!

During his lifetime, he worked for the Seattle Housing Authority. He also drove an RV all over this great country - initially with my grandmother by his side and then independently after her passing - his last trip East was in 2012. He enjoyed his Thunderbird he bought a few years ago - it was always about looking cool for the pretty girls. He will also be remembered for the antics in working on cars - like the time he accidentally blew one up in the garage (Grandma was NOT happy about that one!). He also knew exactly who to go visit to get a good pie - he never turned those down nor a scoop of his favorite ice cream. Every once in awhile he enjoyed a grape Nehi but normally he drank coffee, coffee, and more coffee.

He was deeply loved and will be forever missed. His ashes were spread on July 21, 2015 - exactly 19 years to the day after we spread Grandma's ashes.
