Julia Rosenwald was born in Baltimore, MD on October 20, 1931, the daughter of the late Charles Robert and Mary Angela (Dilley) Arnold. She graduated from St.Joseph's High School in Emmitsburg in 1949 and from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in 1953 with a B.A. in History. She also earned a degree from Western Maryland College in Library Sciences. She married Albert John (Jack) Rosenwald on June 20, 1953 who predeceased her on January 26, 2012. She taught in the Frederick County, MD school system for over 30 years, completing her career as the librarian at Waverley Elementary School.

After retiring to Chestertown, she volunteered with the Chester River Hospital Center and the Upper Shore Mental Health Center. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Women's Literary Club of Chestertown, the Women's League of Washington College and Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and gathering with friends in the Chester River book club.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John M. Rosenwald and her brother, George B. Arnold. She is survived by three sons and a daughter and eight grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, and a brother. Julia Rosenwald passed away on October 18, 2014, she was 82 years of age.
