Hannah Elizabeth Johnson was born in Eddyville, Iowa, March 22, 1862, and died at her home in Belleville, January 13, 1953, at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 22 days.

Mrs. Johnson was the youngest of a large family, all preceded her in death. Her mother died when she was a small child and she remained at home and kept house for her father and brother until middle age.

In 1901 she was married to John T. Johnson and moved to Union Valley, Republic county. Her husband died in 1928 and Mrs. Johnson had lived in Belleville since that time.

Mrs. Johnson loved her home and all that made up a good home. She was a great lover of flowers. She was converted and joined the church when young and has been a faithful and devout Christian. She was a member of the Belleville Baptist church, attending regularly until failing health prevented.

Surviving are five nieces, Inez Jacobs, Wichita; Clara McKee, Topeka; Cora Allen and Dorothy Campbell, both of Des Moines, Iowa, and Bessie Hammond, Froid, Mont.; and nine nephews, Earl Moss, Donair, Cal.; Roy Moss, South Dakota; William Moss, New Jersey; Myron Glass, West Orange, N.J.; Floyd Glass, Omaha, Neb.; Willie Blake Anamose, Iowa, and Don Moss and Oscar Moss, both of Wichita.

Funeral services were held January 15 at the Baptist church with the Rev. F.E. Cary officiating. Interment was in Belleville cemetery.
