Hornell—Ray Irwin, 42, one of Hornell's most prominent men, died unexpectedly Aug. 7, 1937 in his home, 19 Erie Court. Mr. Erwin had been in ill health for several days.
He was a native of Hornell, a graduate of Hornell High School and University of Buffalo Pharmacy School. He had been employed by the Hornell Drug Co. since 1913.
He was a member of the Hornell Elks and Moose and Beta Phi Sigma fraternity.
He leaves a sister, Catherine Erwin; a brother, Cyril Erwin, both of Hornell; three aunts, Miss Katherine Erwin and Miss Cora Erwin both of Addison and Mrs. Ray Murray, Hornell.
