Leo D. Hornsby Jr., 70, died Thursday in a local hospital. Born in Wilkinson County, he lived in Macon most of his life before moving to Milledgeville. He was owner and operator of Hornsby's Garage. He was a World War II veteran who served as a medic in the 180th Infantry. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronz Star. Survivors include his wife, Eva Lingold Hornsby of Milledgeville; son, Terry L. Hornsby of Houston, Texas; sisters and brother, Elizabeth Moody, Lillian Jones and Floyd Hornsby all of Milledgeville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Moores Funeral Home, Milledgeville. Burial will be in Snow Hill cemetery in Wilkinson County. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 tonight in the funeral home.
