She was the daughter of the late Forney and Elizabeth Smith Buckles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Allison VanHuss, and four brothers.
Mrs. VanHuss had lived in Hickory, N.C., for a number of years where she retired from the Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company. She was a member of the Hunter First Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2000 at Memorial Funeral Chapel.
Interment was in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery.
