WILLIE D. BROWN, 81 Dies After Illness; Service Held Today:

Willie Dixon Brown, 81, 403 Campbell St., died Sat. evening at his home after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at Fairview Methodist Church with the Rev. Louis F. Kennedy and the Rev. W.W. Taylor officiating. Internment was in Laurel Hill Cemetery with Carlton Crum, Nimrod Taylor, Leonard Johnson, A.K. Lancaster, Leonard Jones and J.B. Evans as pallbearers with Kirkland-Croy-Hughes Home for Funerals in charge. Mr. Brown has made is home here for the past 23 tears, following his retirement from active farm operations in Boston. He was born in Pavo on Nov. 17, 1877, the son of the late R.D. Brown and Sarah Brown. His marriage to the former Miss Willie Dixon was solemnized on Nov. 12, 1902 at Pavo. Mr. Brown was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomasville. He is survived by Mrs. Brown, three sons, Robert A. Brown of Miami, W.W. Brown of Jesup and A.J. Brown of Columbus; one daughter, Miss Lucille Brown of Thomasville; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
