Edith James was the beloved wife of Robert Norris. Edith was born in 1730 in Georgetown, Georgetown Co., SC and died in 1811 in Horry Co., SC at the age of 81. Robert Norris married Edith on or before 1745 in Georgetown, SC. She died in 1811 in the home of her son, Thomas Norris, in Horry County, South Carolina. Note: Robert Norris was a Farmer. He also studied to become a Doctor and practiced in South Carolina. Note: In "Old Cheraws" by Gregg, page 451, is found an item of interest. "At a meeting of legislature Jan. 1790 Henry Cannon and Charles Evans appear to have been the only members present from St. David's. On the 20th of January the following County Court Justices were appointed - for Darlington, Samuel Mathis, Henry Cannon, and Doctor Robert Norris."
