Robert Norris was the beloved son of Joseph Norris and Ann Wheatley. Robert was born in Oct. 1723 in Baltimore, Baltimore City, Maryland and died in 1790 in Cheraw, Chesterfield Co., SC at the age of 67. He married Edith James on or before 1745 in Georgetown, SC. She died in 1811 in Horry County, South Carolina. Note: Robert Norris was a Farmer. He also studied to become a Doctor and practiced in South Carolina. Note: In "Old Cheraws" by Gregg, page 451, is found an item of interest. "At a meeting of legislature Jan. 1790 Henry Cannon and Charles Evans appear to have been the only members present from St. David's. On the 20th of January the following County Court Justices were appointed - for Darlington, Samuel Mathis, Henry Cannon, and Doctor Robert Norris."
