VIDALIA -- Willie Edwin "Buck" Mathias, 81, died July 14 at Bethany Nursing Center. He was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and attended Georgia Military College in Milledgeville. He was a retired farmer and a member of Higgston Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: two sisters, Virginia M. Volf of Sylvania and Ruby M. Gibert of Denton, Texas; a brother, Horace B. Mathias of Rome; and several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Friday at Higgston Baptist Church, burial in Sharpe Cemetery.
