Mr. Whaley was born April 26, 1935 in Pottsboro to William Clarence Whaley and Oleta Littleheart Hardy Whaley. He was valedictorian of his 8th grade class in Pottsboro, and a 1953 graduate of Denison High School. He graduated from Grayson College in 1974. During the Korean conflict, he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
He was a Mason, a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and worked for Johnson & Johnson for 38 years, retiring in 2000. He died at home in Pottsboro surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dorothy Jean Whaley, and nephew John Hudson.
He loved horses, the outdoors, and his family.
