Roberta G. Robertson, 94, DuBois, died early Monday morning, Oct. 13, 2014, at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.

She was born July 15, 1920, in Desire, to the late George B. and Mary Alvdretta Rutter Roberson.

Roberta graduated from Sandy High School before receiving her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Penn State University. She was a social studies teacher by profession, teaching seventh grade for 17 years in the DuBois Area School District and 17 years in Lancaster Middle School, Lancaster, N.Y. Roberta took a voluntary early retirement in 1976 to return to her native DuBois to help care for ill family members.

She was Lutheran by Faith.

Roberta's favorite pastimes included reading, doing crossword puzzles, knitting, needlepoint, scrapbooking and watching football.

She never married, but derived much happiness from her numerous nieces, nephews, great-neices and great-nephews, by whom she is survived.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Arthur, Thomas, George Jr., James, Harry, Wilber and David Robinson and sisters, Ann and Olive.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Leo C. Cramer. Burial will be in Desire Cemetery, Reynoldsville.
