John R. Stricklen is dead at 67. retired owner of the Buckeye Shim and Gasket Co. and a former executive of the National Rubber Machinery Co, died Wednesday at home, 798 Roselawn Ave, after a long illness. Mr. Stricklen, 67, was vice president and sales manager of National Rubber Machinery from 1931 to 1940. In 1945 he started his own business, the Buckeye Shim. He retired in 1953 and has been ill since 1956. He was born in Wellston, Ohio and lived in Akron for 45 years. He was a member of the Henry Perkins Lodge 611 F and AM.

John R. Stricklen, 67 years of 798 Rose Lawn Ave. passed away Nov. 22. Survived by wife Canna L, 2 sons, John R. Jr. of California, Larry of Akron; 2 daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Frey of Arizona, Mrs. Janet Moses of Akron, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 6 brothers Amos, Melvin, Gilbert all of Akron, Charles of Arizona, Oscar of California, William of Michigan, 4 sisters all of Indiana. Dr. M.S. Harvey will conduct services 11 a.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Home. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call afternoon Fri. at Adams Funeral Home.
