UNIOTOWN - Paul Melvin Stricklen, 85, passed away May 10, 1994. He was born in St. Charles, Mich, raised in Indiana and lived his adult life in the Akron/Uniontown area. Mr. Stricklen retired from the United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 698 as a business representative. Preceded in death by grandson Darrell Paul Chumbley, he is survived by wife of 63 years, Rena, daughter and son-in-law Ruth and Ernest Yoder of Uniontown, daughter Marilyn Stricklen of Marlton, NJ, grandchildren John, Patrick and Valerie Chumbley, Judy Pritchard, Debbie and Myron Matczyszyn, great grandchildren, Tara, John and Nicole Chumbley, Charles and Rena Coburn, brother and sister-in-law Gilbert and Della Stricklen of Fairlawn, sister Addaway Brittain of Chattanooga, Tenn, sister and brother-in-law Mary and Coy Ingram of Michigan, sister Goldie Stricklen of Stow, many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Saturday 10am at the Hopkins Lawver Uniontown Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St. one block northwest of the square of 619 and Cleveland Ave. with Rev. G.Rod Taylor officiating. Burial at East Akron Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9pm Friday. The family suggests memorials to the Uniopntown Paramedics.
