May, Gerald Lawrence, age 78 of Rochester, May 28, 2014. Loving husband of Rita. Dear father of Anthony (Karen) May, John (Karen) May and Marianna (Maximiliano) Larroquette. Cherished grandfather of David, Andrew, Oliver and Analia. Brother of Barbara (the late Allen) Krueger, Roger (Charlene) Myszewski and Kristine (Robert) Lemanczyk. Gerald was a graduate of Marquette University with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, and a Masters in Mathetmatics. He worked for GM in Milwaukee, where he was an engineer for the unmanned space program during it's infancy, and later Pontiac, Michigan for 43 years. His career also included teaching math at Milwaukee School of Engineering and Oakland Community College. He served as President of the Rochester Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors and was Treasurer of both the RSO and the Michigan Accordion Society. He enjoyed being Tech co-ordinator for International (Music) Workshops, traveling to many countries during the summer. Jerry sang with the Rochester Catholic Chorale, which included a concert tour of Italy. The highlight was singing in St. Peter's in Rome.His hobbies include model railroading, travel, and playing the accordion. Funeral Mass, Friday, June 6, 2014, 12:30 pm with an instate time of 12:00 Noon at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood, Rochester. The family will receive friends Thursday, 3-9 pm with a Scripture Service at 7:30 pm at the Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, 339 Walnut Blvd, Rochester. Interment Guardian Angel Cemetery.
