Obituary - OGDEN – Phoebe Viola Collett Tippetts, 88, former Idaho Falls resident, died July 22, 1987, at a Roy, Utah, nursing home of cuases incident to age.
She was born December 8, 1898, at Bennington, Idaho to Charles Merrill and Mary Elnora Munk Collett. She was raised and educated in Smithfield and Logan, Utah. In 1918, she moved with her family to Georgetown, Idaho.
Viola married Harold Tippetts on October 2, 1921, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
She had lived at Idaho Falls, Idaho and Oakland, California, before moving to Ogden.
She was a member of the LDS Church, servicing as a temple ordinance worker in the Oakland, Cali8fornia LDS Temple. She had been active in theater and ballet and had performed throughout Utah and Idaho.
Survivors include her husband of Ogden; a son, Harold J. Tippetts of Farmington, Utah; a daughter, Evadean Louk of North Ogden, Utah; two brothers, Farrell R. Collett of Ogden, and Raeo Collett of Idaho Falls; two sisters, Marcella C. Steiner of Salt Lake City, and Ruth C. Westergard of Idaho Falls; nine grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the Myers Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Boulevard in Ogden. Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday until time of services.
Burial will be in the Farmington, Utah, Cemetery.
