BUD MURPHY, age 84, a lifelong resident of Irving, died Saturday, October 11, 2014 in Carrollton, Texas. Born February 24, 1930, he was the son of William Leroy Murphy and Merle Rowe Murphy. Bud was a U.S. Army veteran. On August 29, 1952 he married Betty Ranft in Aurora, Texas. She preceded him in death on May 21, 1999. Bud built cabinets in Las Colinas for more than 30 years. He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Taylor and husband Dan of Lewisville, and Glenda Hash and husband Charles of Irving; son, Glen Murphy and wife Barbara of New York, Texas; grandchildren, Karie Stephens of Aubrey, Kim Costillo and husband Daniel of Mabank, Brandon Murphy and wife Kelsey of Baxter and Anthony Hash and wife Michelle of Lewisville; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Costillo, Lenore Costillo, Makenna Murphy, Corey Whorten and Ryan Whorten; and brother, Jerry Murphy and wife Wanda of Altus, Oklahoma. A viewing will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Service is at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 14 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Larry Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
