HAYNES, Merle, 91, daughter of the late Collier and Ruby Barfield Furlong, died September 26, 2014. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Leak Memory Chapel, followed by her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Ministers Brad Sullivan and Philip Black officiating, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Haynes is survived by her two children, Ron Haynes and Kathy Jones, and by her grandchildren, Holly (Garlon) Rainey, David (Allison) Haynes, Wendi Hamilton, Chris (Heather) Jones and Kasey (Tim) Brown. Surviving also are 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Herman Haynes; daughter-in-law, Lucy Haynes and by her brother, Thomas Furlong.

Mrs. Haynes was a member of Vaughan Park Church of Christ and was employed for 25 years with Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center. She was known for her good works in love servicing her beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
