Ruth was the 1st of 6 children (3 sons and 3 daughters) born of Solomon Boltwood (1697-1762) and his wife Mary Norton (1686-1763) widow of John Pantry, Jr. Ruth's siblings were: Sarah (1723-1746), William (b. 1725), Solomon (b. 1727), Ebenezer (1731-1749), and Mary (1733-1780).
Ruth married in Amherst, Hampshire County, Province of Massachusett Bay, October 19, 1742, Charles Wright (1719-1793) by whom she had 8 children (5 sons and 3 daughters): Solomon (b. 1743), Samuel (b. 1745), Dorcas (1750-1813), Josiah (1752-1817), Sarah (b. 1757), Esther (b. 1760), and Solomon (1762-1837).
