Andrew Huffgarden, son of Alvin and Ida Huffgarden, was born February 17, 1895, and departed this life the morning of August 25, 1979, at The Brown County Hospital at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 8 days.
On April 10, 1917, he was united in marriage to Ruby Sroufe, who preceded him in death on January 4, 1975. Also preceding him in death, a brother, Joseph, and his mother and father.
At an early age he joined the White Oak United Brethren Church. He was a retired farmer and employee of The Ohio Department of Transportation.
He leaves to mourn his death two sons: Victor, of Mount Orab; Alfred, of Englewood, Ohio; two daughters, Janetta Kieffer, Sardinia, and Bernice Lightner of Dayton; two sons-in-law, Clarence Kieffer and J. R. Lightner; two daughters-in-law, Mary Louise Huffgarden and Neva Huffgarden; nine grandchildren, Vickie Walker, Judith Kirkendall, Linda Redick, Lonnie and Gary Huffgarden; Emerson and Rick Lightner and Tom and Terry Kieffer; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dewey and Lawrence Huffgarden, both of Sardinia; also one sister-in-law, Ina Huffgarden and one niece, June Smith. A host of relatives, friends and neighbors are also left to mourn his passing.
