Hattie M. Thompson, 96, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 surrounded by her family.
Hattie was born in St. Joseph on September 28, 1918 to James and Hattie (Harris) McDermed. Hattie was married to the love of her life, Donald L. Thompson, for 68 years prior to his passing in 2007.
She worked as a Quality Control Manager at HD Lee.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, James “Sonny” McDermed.
Surviving family includes two daughters, Patricia McCart (Robert) of St. Joseph; and Dianne Welsh (Kevin) of Blue Springs, Mo.; two grandchildren, Lisa McClellan and Heather (Scott) Thompson; four great-grandchildren, Darian, Baylee, Dylan and Wyatt.
Per Hattie’s wishes, private graveside services will be held at St. Joseph Memorial Park.
