She died on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at her residence. She was a member of Greater St. Paul Baptist Church. She loved cooking and fishing. She also enjoyed sewing and cross stitching.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Tom Banks, Jr and Dorothy Banks; sister, Harriett Emanuel Hood and brother, Christopher Barnes.
