"Betty L. Willis of New Market died at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Central Hospital at Lafayette. She was 81.
Mrs. Willis was retired from the Southmont School Corporation, where she had worked for 37 years. She also had worked at RR Donnelley and Bryant Manufacturing at Indianapolis. She was a member of Browns Valley Christian Church. She was a 1948 graduate of Ladoga High School.
She was born April 13, 1930, at Ladoga, to Frank and Margaret (Shubert) Everhart. She married Bryon Willis in February 1961 at Danville, Ill. He died in 1969. A daughter, Becky Willis of Mt. Prospect, Ill., survives. Three brothers and three sisters are deceased.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. Burial will be in Oak Hill Grant Avenue Cemetery, Crawfordsville. Friends may call 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
