Warren Bryant, 96, of Downingtown, Pa., passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at his home with his wife of 66 years, Marie Adele (Levy) Bryant, by his side. Born on July 5, 1918 in Roxborough, and a longtime resident of Drexel Hill, he was the son to the late Edward George Bryant and Betsy Rittenhouse Bryant. Warren attended Roxborough High School and then received technical certification and schooling for mechanical drafting. He enlisted in the Navy two days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, where he earned the rank of Aerographer's Mate 1st Class. His navy service included advanced training in Aerography School and he then served in the Northern Atlantic Command and in the Pacific in the Philippines. His career included work as a tooling and mechanical designer for Baldwin Locomotive, Clifton Precision and Plastomatic Corp. of Malvern. He had a lifelong love of soccer and spent weekends skiing with his family until the age of 82. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Warren is survived by his wife Marie; his daughter, Judith McLaughlin (James); his son, Warren Bryant (Dale); grandchildren, Timothy McLaughlin (Arlene), Christine McLaughlin, Jamie Wagner (Jason), Jeffrey Bryant (Lauren), Jared Bryant (Joanna), Melissa Hendrickson (Nathan); and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward George Bryant, Jr. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 9th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Downingtown United Methodist Church, 751 East Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, Pa.; service to immediately follow. Interment at George Washington Memorial Park in Plymouth Meeting, Pa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Warren Bryant's name to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, 333 E.
