New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, March 18, 2007, at St. Peter Catholic Church, in New Iberia for Mary "Grace" Blanchard Bellot, who died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Tulane Lakeside Hospital in Metairie.

Entombment will follow at Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum in New Iberia.

Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the celebrant of the funeral service, concelebrant will be Rev. Charles Longlois. The readers will be Candace Lannoo and Cheryl Doucet.

Grace was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and nurse. She was a wonderful friend to all who knew her. Her most treasured moments were enjoying the company of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them grow-up. She was employed for 24 years with Dr. Mike Alvarez and Dr. Oscar Alvarez.

Survivors include her husband Lennis Bellot of New Iberia; her son, John Blanchard, Jr. and his wife, Cindy of New Iberia; her daughters, Sandy Decoux and her husband, Mark of Coteau, Kerry Breaux and her husband, Clark, and Adrena Bourque and her husband, Robbie, all of New Iberia; her brothers, Willis Blanchard and his wife, Jeanette of Henderson, Nolan Blanchard and his wife, Debbie of Dallas, TX, Charles Blanchard and his wife, Elsie, Durphy Blanchard and his wife, Louella, Murphy Blanchard, James Blanchard and his wife, Judy, Allen Blanchard and his wife, Cindy, Joel Blanchard, all of Catahoula, John Blanchard, Sr. of Henderson, and Wilton Walker of Covington; her sisters, Margaret Daigle and her husband, Ronnie of Cecilia and Helen Simon and her husband, Paul of New Iberia; ten grandchildren, Brandi, Kelli, and Lauren Breaux, Raeven Bourque, Russell Decoux, Jr., and his wife, Tiffany, Erika Decoux, Bailee Lerette, Katelyn, Gavin, and Ian Blanchard; and two great grandchildren, Reece and Mallory Decoux.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Malvina Latiolais Blanchard; and her grandson, Brad Michael Breaux.

The family requested that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday until time of service.

A rosary will be recited by Rev. Ed Degeyter at 6:00 PM on Saturday evening.

Pallbearers will be Lennis Bellot, John Blanchard, Jr., Russell Decoux, Jr., Mark Decoux, Robbie Bourque, and Clark Breaux.
