Avon - Johanna H. Bauer, 82, 32771 Spunk Tree Circle, died Sunday at Mother Mercy Nursing Home, Albany.

Funeral Services will be noon Tuesday at St. Benedict's Catholic Church. The Rev. James Reichert will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Williams Funeral Home. Waite Park American Legion Post 428 Auxiliary will pray at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home in Avon followed by East Side VFW Auxiliary Post 4847 at 7:30, parish prayers at 8, and Christian Mothers at 8:30.

Johanna Bauer was born July 23, 1910, in Lake Lenore, Saskatchewan, Canada, to John and Elizabeth (Schmitz) Gaetz. She married George A. Bauer on July 28, 1945, in Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Albany, and lived in the Avon area for the past 33 years. She was employed as a housekeeper by H.A. Robbinson for 10 years, worked as a pastry cook by Davison Cafeteria in St. Paul for five years, and baked for St. John's University snack bar for five years. She was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, East Side VFW Post 4857 Auxiliary, and Waite Park American Legion Post 428 Auxillary.

Survivors include her husband; son and daughter, George, Avon; Mrs. Gerald (Florence) Forster, Albany; sister and brothers, Dorothy Gaetz, St. Paul; Ben, Wyoming, Minn; Roman, Fosston; Harry "Giggs", Longville; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters and brothers, Elizabeth Johnson, Isabelle Pulver, Helen Coates, Raymond, and George. Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
