David the son of Robert A. Daniels and Renee Daniels of Key West Florida enlisted in the US Marine Corps on October 8 1965 in New York City. In Vietnam he was assigned to and served with Battery A, 1st LAAM Battalion, MWHG-1, 1st MAWDIV, III MAF.

On March 1, in the vicinity of the Hai Van Pass on the border of Thua Tien and Quang Nam Provinces PFC David Daniels was killed accidently when a fellow Marine was clearing his rifle and it discharged.
