Allyn Whitehouse passed away on October 2, 2014.
Allyn was born in 1931 in Ink, AK to Henry and Cordilla Whitehouse, and was preceded in death by his two brothers, Vernie and Paul and two sisters Florence and Lela.
Allyn is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte, sons, Alan and Edwin, daughter-in-law, Charlene and precious granddaughters, Kellie and Megan and sisters, Coy-vie and Faye. Soon after graduating from high school, Allyn joined the United States Army and served three years, then after discharge went into police work.
First with the City police in Artesia, then with New Mexico State Police from whence he retired in 1979. Then his real love began….playing Bluegrass music, winning several awards and playing on stage with various bands in ten different states including "Austin City Limits". Always up-beat and ready to laugh, and confirming "his was a wonderful life" made possible by two wonderful and trouble free sons, a loving daughter-in-law, and two beautiful granddaughters.
Allyn will be dearly missed, but we'll look forward to seeing him on the other side. Services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at French - Wyoming. Interment will be held on Friday October 10, 2014 at 9:45 a.m. at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM.
