Joyce Adeline Anderson, 80, of Bear River, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth with her family at her side. She was born July 3, 1925, at her home in Bear River to Frank and Clara (Jary) Fredland.

She attended Bear River School through 8th grade and graduated from Alango High School. During World War II, she moved to Hastings, Neb. and worked at the Naval Ammunition Factory making ammunition for Navy ships. It was there where she met her future husband, Delbert Anderson. They were united in marriage on Feb. 6, 1945 in Hastings, Neb. They lived in Inland, Neb., until 1956 when they moved back to Bear River, where she resided until her death.

Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family and many friends. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gardening and baking 'dozens' of cookies for her grandkids. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delbert in 1990; and brothers, Russell and Myron.

Joyce is survived by her daughters: Lois (Don) Jenson, Judy Anderson, Barbara Hoover, and Patricia (Ron) Owen; sons: Donald (Mary) Anderson, Kenneth (Dana) Anderson, Charles (Norma) Anderson, Richard Anderson, Thomas (Margo) Anderson, James (Robyn) Anderson, Brian (Gail) Anderson, Gary (Amy) Anderson, Robert Anderson, and Jeffrey Anderson; 30 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brothers: Vivian Fredlund, and Frank (Janet) Fredlund; sisters: Frances (Raymond) Scofield, Colleen Joki and Cosma Hemhill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
