Legora attended school at Mount Zion of Grapeland, Texas. She accepted Christ at an early age. She attended C.M.E. Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher under Rev. Sanders. She was a member of The House of God, Church of the living God-Prophet Herman also Church of the Living God-Bishop John L. McKnight.
Later she moved to Augusta, Texas. While living in Augusta she attended Priscilla School. The teacher was Myrtle White.
She married Charlie O.V. White April 26, 1932. To this union,9 children Ruthie Marie, Eva Beatrice, Betty Jane, Preston, Charles Edward, Rommie Lee, James Lewis, Norma Jean, and Stella Mae. All Born in Augusta.She lived in Lively Ville, where they lived on Johnny Wilkins Farm. The family later moved to Crockett, Texas in 1962.
She was a mid-wife in the Houston County Area in later years she was a cook for twenty-five years at Brimberry's Cafe in Crockett and Palestine.
