Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Williams Memorial Chapel in Milledgeville. Burial will be in Baldwin Memorials Gardens in Milledgeville. The Rev. Wendell Thomas will officiate.
A native of Wilkinson County Mr. Wood lived in Baldwin County for the past 38 years. He was a retired employee of Central State Hospital. He was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Wilkinson County.
Survivors include his wife, Madge Fountain Wood of Milledgeville; five dayghters, Sarah Livingston of Hilton Head, S.C., Wyndelle Dewberry of Austel, Louise McBurney, Velma Veazey and Ruth Hobbs all of Milledgeville; a son Elton Wood of Milledgeville; a sister, Annie Myrick of Ocilla; 28 grandchildren, 37 great-grandclildren.
The family will greet friends from 7 until 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
