LAWRENCE H. BROWN, 84, of 730 Colgrove Street in Waterloo, died at 4:25am on Saturday, March 20th at DeKalb memorial Hospital. The retired farmer and carpenter was born in DeKalb County June 17, 1891. His parents were Laben and Alda (Humes) Brown. Mr. Brown married Mildred Likens, April 20, 1911. She preceded him in death on April 11, 1974. Two sons also preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Johnson, Hammond, and Marybelle Haiflich R2 Auburn; four sons, Harold D. Brown, Lehigh Acres, Fla, James E. Brown, Penn Park, Hamilton, Lawrence E. Brown, 515 North Wayne Street, Waterloo, and Leo R. Brown, 600 West Douglas Street, Waterloo; one brother, Paul Brown, Bradenton, Fla; 47 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services were at 1:00pm Tuesday, at the Graffis Funeral Home in Waterloo. Rev. Max Smith, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Waterloo, officiated. Calling was after 7:00pm Sunday. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, St. Joe.
