HICKORY GROVE, S.C. ~ Ernest Irwin "Irvin" Benfield, 88, was a son of the late Fred Washington and Martha Dowdle Benfield. He was preceded in death by brothers, Roy Benfield, Fred Benfield Jr., Tom Benfield, and sisters Mary Moon and Ola Reed.
A native of Hickory Grove, Irvin was a member of the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church and the Watt Blackmon VFW Post 6381. Irvin was retired from Rock Hill Printing and Finishing, was a graduate of Hickory Grove High School, and served in the United States Army during WWII.
Interment in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
