Doyal Lampkins, 79, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel with the Rev. Dale Bigham of Arden Road Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.
Doyal was born May 6, 1935, in Crowder, Okla., to James and Eunice Lampkins. He served in the Army and fought in the Korean War.
Doyal retired from ASARCO after 30 years of service. He was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church. Doyal enjoyed fishing, traveling and loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Rutha Lampkins; his daughters, Barbara Floyd and Ken and Linda Bradley and Clifton, all of Amarillo; three brothers; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Pete and Linda Hubbard and Junior and June Sorrels.
