Sudden Death of Benjamin Newhouse at Wright Settlement
While out in his cornfield cultivating, Wednesday, Benjamin Newhouse of Wright Settlement dropped dead. Melvin Cleveland, a neighbor, noticed Mr. Newhouse’s team standing still about an hour, and thinking all was not right, he investigated and discovered Mr. Newhouse lying dead on the ground. Deceased was 81 years old and had been quite feeble for some time. He was a man much respected by all who knew him. For the past 15 years or 20 years he had lived in Wright Settlement. Coroner Nock was summoned, and after investigating the case, decided an inquest not necessary. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Bielby, who lived with him and Mrs. Samuel Bielby of Watson Hollow. John and William Newhouse are nephews.
