WHO ARE THEY?
I usually don't post items that I can't verify with all certainty, however the two photographs on this memorial, I do believe to be Jessie W. and Elizabeth(Williams) Harvey( daughter of John D. "Jocham" and Rebecca Sweat Williams or Jackie and Beckie as they are listed on Elizabeth's Death certificate., though I can't prove it, because no known photographs have been found to compare them to and nobody living now knows what they looked like. With that said, the two photographs appear to have been taken about 10 years apart. I draw your attention to the baby boy in the first photograph(holding his head in a particular way) and how much he has grown in the 2nd photograph still holding his head in the same way. Baby boy in the 1st photo is possibly their first born, Charley. By analyzing the gender of the children and the approximate ages of the children, the photos were taken between late 1860's and late 1870's. Charley, Ada, Jesse(Kile/Cuyler), John Richard(Jackie), Andrew, and Francis. Francis the baby in the 2nd photo being born in 1876, the second photo was probably taken in 1877. Not pictured were Levira born 1879, Elbert Arthur "Dossie" born 1880, and Grover Cleveland "Clete" born 1884.
Both photographs were found in the possessions of my aunt Meredith Harvey after she passed in 2020. Nobody in our family has ever seen these two photos before and they were found at the back of a dark closet. 1st photograph is small 4X6 in size and unframed, the 2nd is a larger size in a frame. My family and I have studied the family tree and have concluded this is the only family these pictures can be of. Interestingly enough, my aunt Meredith Harvey was married to her cousin Spencer Harvey. Meredith was a great granddaughter of Jessie and Elizabeth Harvey through their son Francis Harvey and Spencer was a grandchild of Jessie and Elizabeth through their son Elbert Arthur "Dossie" Harvey.
